Varúlfr is a one-man pagan black metal project from Argentina, active since 2024, with the same individual also running the black metal solo projects Blodmåne and KALDR. The project's debut release "Old Curse," issued on June 8, 2024, is a three-track EP featuring songs including "The Rebirth of the Heraldic Wolf" and "Dark Spells of an Enchanted Sword."
Vastarien is the solo project of Maceió-based multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo Lacerda, who handles all instruments, vocals, and production himself. Formed in 2021, the project works a seam of death, doom, and black metal saturated with themes of pessimism, anti-natalism, and cosmic horror — documented across the debut album nothing HAS to be (March 2021) and the two-track EP Cadaveric Fauna / Derealization, self-recorded at Sempiternum Studios in Maceió and released in March 2023.
Vathsath are a black metal duo from Quintero, Chile, formed in 2025. Their debut album "Forgotten and Lost Empires" (2025) draws on the philosophy of Nietzsche, exploring nihilism and existential collapse across six tracks of melodic black metal with atmospheric keyboards.
Vauruvã is a two-person progressive black metal project from Rio de Janeiro: multi-instrumentalist Caio Lemos composes and records everything beneath the vocals and lyrics of Bruno Augusto Ribeiro. Since their 2021 debut Manso Queimor Dacordado — later picked up for a physical release by Pest Productions — the band has woven atmospheric black metal together with Brazilian and indigenous folk textures, culminating in the 2025 album Mar da Deriva, a three-track, thirty-five-minute work recorded between spring 2024 and autumn 2025.
Vazio emerged from São Paulo in 2017 with a self-titled EP that announced a band fluent in raw, occult-charged black metal — a sound the four-piece (Renato Gimenez on vocals and guitar, Eric Nefus Cavalcante on guitar, Nilson Slaughter on bass, and Daniel Vecchi on drums) has refined across a series of splits and full-lengths including Necrocosmos. Their themes span the void, Quimbanda, necromancy, and dark spiritualism, rooting their music in Brazil's own esoteric traditions alongside orthodox black metal grimness.
Vegllem was a raw black metal and DSBM project from São Paulo that came and went within 2024, leaving behind a small clutch of recordings including the album Hell — whose tracks "Lord Vampire," "War," and "Catacumba" sketch the project's bleak, lo-fi aesthetic — and a separate release titled Sky Angell. Short-lived even by underground standards, Vegllem has since split up.
Veidan Land is a traditional heavy metal band from Iracemápolis, São Paulo, drawing influence from classic acts like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Manowar. The band — featuring João Vitor on vocals and guitar, Felipe Ribeiro on guitar, Leandro Verzenhassi on bass, and Felipe Rodrigues on drums — operates as an independent act and has released the self-titled album "Veidan Land" and the follow-up "The Final Battle" through Bandcamp.
Vela Negra was a doom metal band from Brasília that sang in Portuguese and featured vocalist Zé Dai Hou alongside guitarists Vinicius Rispoli and Marcel Ianuck, bassist and visual artist Fabão Dourado, and drummer Tamiel Khan. The band released their debut single "O Inevitável Porvir" followed by the 2020 EP "Cemitério dos Vivos", whose cover art depicted Brasília's iconic monuments arranged into a skull — designed by Dourado himself.
Velatorio is a blackened death metal band from Paso del Rey, in the Greater Buenos Aires area, releasing their four-track demo in March 2023 through DVRecords with tracks including "Rigor Mortis," "Guillotina," "Marcas Satanicas," and "Irreversible." The band also contributed the track "Huesos y Estacas" to the DVRecords compilation "Toca Rapido o Muere" in 2023.
