Vox Heaven is a heavy and progressive metal project from Paraná, Brazil, founded by Celso De Freyn and built around an ambitious collaborative framework that enlisted over two dozen co-lead vocalists and fourteen guitarists for its self-titled debut release. The project draws on Christian lyrical themes and brought in internationally recognized players such as Rex Carroll of Whitecross to help shape its densely layered sound.
Vox Mortem is a thrash metal band from Rio de Janeiro whose 2008 debut album The Worst Creature—recorded at Area 3 Studios with guitarist Rodrigo Coutinho, co-guitarist Esau Xavier, bassist and vocalist Eduardo Martins, and drummer Flávio Monteiro—established their place in the city's underground metal scene. The band draws from the aggressive thrash tradition of 1980s Brazilian acts like Sepultura and Dorsal Atlântica while incorporating hardcore and death metal elements.
Vrede are a Buenos Aires thrash/groove metal band formed in 1991 whose name is Swedish for "wrath." They released three recordings during their original run: the demo "El Amarillito" (1994), and full-lengths "Raíz" (1995) and "Incisión" (1996), with the band splitting up in 1997 before briefly reuniting in 2009. Their core lineup featured brothers Hernán Espejo (guitar) and Gonzalo Espejo (drums), alongside vocalist Gabriel Raimondo and bassist Claudio Filadoro.
Vulcanor are an independent heavy/thrash metal trio from the Constitución and San Cristóbal neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, formed by vocalist/bassist Agustín Cerneaz, guitarist Mariano Pampín, and drummer Enrique Ríos. They released their debut EP "Jauría de Lobos" in 2011, followed by their first full-length album "Maldita Pudrición" in May 2013, recorded entirely without label support. The band has operated fully independently since their formation, handling production, editing, and distribution themselves.
Vulto Abissal—Portuguese for "Abyssal Shade"—is a speed and black metal band from Iracemápolis, São Paulo, founded by the multi-instrumentalist Pfähler, who handled all instruments and vocals on early recordings. The band issued its demo Until the Dark Solitude Take Our Soul in January 2015 and quickly followed with the EP Queen of the Dark Depths in June 2015, establishing a catalog built around themes of evil, the occult, and misanthropy.
Vultur Gryphus is a death metal and grindcore band from Quito, Ecuador, formed in 2007 according to Metal Archives. They released the full-length La humanidad es carroña in 2014 and followed it with the Ataraxia EP in 2019, remaining an active force in Ecuador's extreme metal underground.
Vulturine is a black metal band from São Paulo, formed in 2002, whose 2008 album Ossos... Ódio & Angústia marked a key early release in their catalog; the band has since gone on to release additional full-lengths including Tentáculos da Aberração and the 2022 Drakkar Productions effort Cântico Gangrenoso. The band's sound centers on Satanism and misanthropy, drawing on the raw Brazilian black metal tradition.
Vy Kaos is an atmospheric black metal project from Minas Gerais, Brazil, active since 2017 and signed to Violet Nebula Productions. The band released VY-K1.5 in January 2021, a four-track work that continues their exploration of space and cosmic themes through an atmospheric black metal framework.
Vynkord were a Buenos Aires folk metal band formed in early 2015, featuring an unusually large seven-piece lineup that included fiddle (Gabriel Sturniolo), ethnic instruments (David Funes), and dual guitars alongside conventional metal instrumentation. They released their only EP, "Stay Where You Can Hear Us," on September 8, 2015, a four-track record drawing on fictional stories set in northern European medieval settings. The band subsequently split up, leaving the EP as their sole recorded output.
