Manaus, BR · 2016–present · active
Death/doom metal band from Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon, who self-describe their style as Morbidoom Death Metal. Releases include the album Mórbidos Dizeres and the single SVB VMBRA, both marked by slow, oppressive riffs and a fixation on the abyss of human uncertainty.
São Luís, BR · 2018–present · active
Death metal band from São Luís, Maranhão, one of the few extreme metal acts to emerge from Brazil's northeastern coastal capital. Active since 2018, the band builds their lyrical world around Lovecraftian mythos and cosmic horror, weaving themes of eldritch dread through their sound. Pernambuco, BR · 2020–present · active
Solo atmospheric black metal project from Pernambuco, Brazil, built around the concept of primordial void — the name 0-Nun refers to the absence of the cosmic liquid said to have given birth to the universe. The project is led by the sole member V0 Id and has released a multi-part conceptual series titled The Shamanic Trilogy, exploring non-existence, emptiness, and shamanic philosophy across three installments plus a fourth release. The music fuses dense atmospheric black metal with meditative, cosmological themes rooted in the idea of all things having never been.

Rio Grande do Sul, BR · 2020–? · disbanded
Raw black metal project from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, active between 2020 and its dissolution. The name 1835 references the year the Farroupilha Revolution erupted in the region, a decade-long separatist uprising that defines the cultural identity of southern Brazil, lending the band a distinctly regional character. With no Spotify presence and a short lifespan, 1835 existed firmly within the lo-fi Brazilian underground black metal tape and Bandcamp circuit.

2112 is a progressive rock and heavy metal band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, formed in 1986 and named in honour of the Rush album, which they pronounce in Spanish as "Veinti Uno Doce." The band has released five studio albums spanning from Alterando las divisiones (1990) to Nuestro mejor fracaso (2020), with guitarist Juan Tambussi and drummer Sergio Moscatelli as long-standing core members.
Catanduva, BR · 2023–present · active
Black metal and grindcore band from Catanduva, in the interior of São Paulo state, formed in 2023. The name translates to Three Skulls and reflects the band's penchant for stripped-down extremity at the intersection of raw black metal aggression and the blunt force of grindcore. As a new entry in the Brazilian underground with no Spotify presence, they operate in the DIY cassette and Bandcamp space that sustains much of the country's extreme metal underground.
