The record is one of the early entries in Chile's crossover thrash scene of that era.

Anomalia were a metal band from Tigre, Buenos Aires who started out playing thrash and death metal before shifting toward metalcore over the course of their career. The band released two albums — Mea Culpa (2012) and Una Vida en el Infierno (2015) — with the latter marking a move to all-Spanish lyrics and a cleaner, more melodic approach. The lineup at their most active featured vocalist Ramiro Arias, guitarist David Lapalucci, bassist Ariel Olarte, and drummer Javier Cuello.
