Antes Que Todos Mueran is a hardcore and groove metal band from Lanús, Buenos Aires, formed in 2017. Their self-titled debut EP, recorded in August 2016 and featuring vocalist Enzo Cardozo alongside guitarist Germán López and bassist Hugo Blanco, laid down four tracks of aggressive, groove-driven hardcore. The band has remained active in the Buenos Aires underground scene and continued releasing material on streaming platforms.
São Paulo, BR · 2019–present · active
A speed/thrash metal institution from São Paulo, founded in 1984 and among the earliest bands in the city's underground metal scene alongside Korzus and Attomica. Their 1987 debut "No Limite da Força" is regarded as a classic of Brazilian national metal, and the band returned after a hiatus with "O Caos da Razão" in 2015 to mark their 30th anniversary, followed by "Anthares Espetáculo Sangrento" in 2025. The current lineup centers on guitarists Topperman and Mauricio Amaral, bassist Pardal, drummer Evandro Jr., and vocalist Diego Nogueira, carrying forward their trademark aggressive riffing and politically charged lyrical stance.
Teresina, BR · 2017–present · active
A three-piece black metal band from Teresina, Piauí, in northeastern Brazil, formed in 2011 and devoted to the rawer, more primitive sound of 1980s black metal. Their 2017 debut album "Cold Embrace" — recorded at Orange Studio — showcases a sound that leans on lo-fi atmosphere, with lyrics inspired by nihilism, 18th-century poetics, and primitive culture. The band features Mephistopheles on guitar, Sadist on drums and vocals, and Poet on bass.
Cali, CO · active
Anti Human is a Black/Death Metal band that formed in Cali, Colombia in 2009, later relocating to Madrid, Spain. The band released their debut full-length Black Death in 2013, followed by Reflections of the Black Sun in 2021 via StillBorn Twins Records.
Nova Friburgo (early)/Nova Iguaçu (later), BR · 2015–present · active
A one-man raw black metal project from Rio de Janeiro by Fernando Count Old, originating in Nova Friburgo before relocating to Nova Iguaçu. Active since 2010, the project has built a consistent lo-fi discography across multiple EPs and singles — including "Bem Vindos ao Começo do Fim" (2012) and "Imemorável Falso Império" (2022) — with all material recorded and mixed by Count Old himself. Lyrical themes circle around anti-Christianity, political crisis, war, and misanthropy, in keeping with the uncompromising aesthetics of Brazilian underground raw black metal.
São Paulo, BR · 2016–present · active
A death metal band from São Paulo formed in 2015 by vocalist Danilo, guitarist Bulldogue, bassist Cayque, and drummer Denito. Their self-titled debut EP was released in late 2016 as a limited 300-copy 7" vinyl, staking out a nihilistic, stripped-down death metal sound in the vein of the São Paulo underground. The band has remained active and independent since their formation.
Espírito Santo, BR · 2013–present · active
A one-man death metal project from Espírito Santo, Brazil, built around uncompromisingly anti-religious lyrical themes. The project has released at least two albums — "O Inferno te Espera" and "Crucificado pela Ignorância" — channeling the blunt, aggressive tradition of Brazilian extreme metal with a blasphemous conceptual focus. It operates as a fully independent solo endeavor, distributing its material through Bandcamp.
BR · 2021–? · disbanded
A short-lived Brazilian solo project by Lucylove, blending black metal, death metal, grindcore, and noise into what the artist described as "Brazilian deathgrind crust." Their 2022 debut EP "Anti-Fa, Anti-You, Anti-All," released through No Profit, No Money Records, packs ten tracks of nihilistic extremity, with chaotic noise textures and lyrical themes centered on emptiness and anti-authoritarian rage. A second EP, "The Nekrocrust," followed in October 2023 before the project disbanded.
Rio Grande do Sul, BR · 2018–? · disbanded
A black metal project from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, active briefly from 2018 before disbanding. The state has a deep tradition of underground extreme metal — home to Krisiun, Brutal Morticínio, and numerous other acts — and Antigo represents a later generation of that regional underground. Details on the project's lineup and releases are sparse, reflecting the deeply DIY and underground nature of the Brazilian black metal scene in the southernmost state.
