Zarg is a progressive metal and rock band from Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, tracing its roots to a 1993 cover band called Mr. Wizard founded by vocalist and guitarist Alexandre Siqueira, guitarist Leonardo Coutinho, drummer Christian Valias, and bassist Geraldo Morais. After a gradual shift toward original progressive material, the band recorded the demo Zaravásh in 1999 and formally released their debut album Zaravash in 2002 on the label Progressive Rock Worldwide.

Zen Garden was a short-lived avant-garde project from São Paulo that merged black metal, gothic, and noise elements into an experimental framework, releasing the recording Chained to Time in November 2019. The band's willingness to dissolve genre boundaries put them on the fringes of São Paulo's already eclectic underground metal scene before they split up.

Ziegenblut was a raw black metal solo project from São Paulo, Brazil, with all instruments and vocals handled by a single member going by Nekrös. The project released one EP, Bestial Heart, through Shadow Resistance Productions in January 2023, featuring five tracks including a cover of Sarcófago's "Nightmare."

Zilla is a technical and melodic death metal band founded in Vale do Amanhecer, Distrito Federal, Brazil, tracing their roots to 2002 before settling into their current style. The band released the demo Dry Throat in 2005 and their debut full-length Pragmatic Evolution in 2010, drawing on progressive influences alongside themes of philosophy and human nature.

Zombie Cookbook is a death/thrash and grindcore band from Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil, active since 2010 with a fixation on zombies, gore, and B-horror movie aesthetics. The band has released several records including the Cinetrash EP, the split Among the Living...Dead with Rancid Flesh, and later full-lengths Outside the Grave and Motel Hell, with a current lineup featuring members performing under pseudonyms such as Clandestine, Dismembered, Consumed, Thombstoned, and Leprous.

Zona Abissal was a power and thrash metal band from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, whose roots date back to the 1980s with original members including Alberto Carvalho on bass and vocals and Dennis Carvalho on guitar. The band released a self-titled album in 1988 recorded at Estudio Livre in Salvador and followed it with the more thrash-oriented demo Kill and Die in 1993 before eventually splitting up.

Zona de Guerra is a heavy metal band from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, formed in 2021 with lyrical themes centered on war. The band released the EP Devastação Bestial as an early statement of their aggressive, riff-driven approach to traditional heavy metal.

Zorra is a groove metal band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, featuring vocalist Rodrigo Santamaría, guitarists Adrián "Chino" Carrizo and Leonardo Ibáñez, and drummer Adrián Suriano. The band released the album "Dicotomia" in March 2020 and followed it with "El Corso de la Gran Mentira" in May 2024.

Zyx66 is an instrumental Heavy/Thrash/Death Metal project from Ilo, Moquegua, Peru, formed in 2020. The duo released three demos in 2022 followed by two full-length albums, Abandonen toda esperanza (2023) and Bajo el sonido del caos (2024).
