Formed in 2016 by veterans drawn from bands including Nuclëar Fröst and Whipstriker, Necrogosto are devoted to the savage black/thrash sound of late-1980s Brazil — Sarcófago, Sextrash, and Holocausto are the obvious touchstones. Their self-titled 2017 demo, recorded on analogue equipment at Caffeine Sound Studio, was followed by the "Ancestral Bestiality" EP (2020) and the "Sudakaos" EP (2023) via Nuclear War Now! Productions and Black Hearts Records, with the latter including a cover of the Insulter/Sextrash classic "Black Church."

Necrohunter began as a straightforward death metal outfit before gradually moving toward atmospheric black metal, exploring themes of desolation, depression, and occultism across releases including the album Hunter's Curse (2014) and Last Days (2020). The band traces its roots through earlier incarnations Damned Creation and Behest, making Necrohunter the latest evolution of a project that has been reshaping its sound for over two decades.

Necrolatria deal in the slow, suffocating territory where death metal meets doom, wringing funeral weight out of every riff. Their 2020 full-length Ultimate Prevail of Darkness stands as their most substantial statement, a sprawling effort built around crushing tempos and morbid atmosphere.
Coronel, CL · 2015–present · active
Necrolatría is a black metal band from Coronel in Chile's Biobío region, active since the mid-2010s with a catalog rooted in esoteric and misanthropic themes. The band self-compiled their early recordings on the 2020 release Ultimate Prevail of Darkness through Dreadful Records, then issued the full-length Where Light Has No Domain in 2022 — recorded at home in Coronel and released through both Apocalyptic Productions and Iron Bonehead Productions, with drums tracked at Ramses Studio and the record limited to 500 copies. Their sound draws on raw second-wave black metal traditions, with releases also appearing on Street Metal Blasphemy.

Necrolust were a black metal band from Salvador, Bahia active from 1989 to the mid-1990s, operating deep in the Brazilian underground with a sound rooted in satanic and anti-Christian themes. They left behind two demos — Christ's Excommunication (1991) and Kill and Die by Satan (1994) — both of which were later compiled on the 2017 limited-edition digipak The Rites of Infernal Torment, preserving a snapshot of Bahia's early extreme metal scene.
Mongaguá, BR · 2022–present · active
Necrológio is a three-piece death metal band — vocalist Mike Douglas, multi-instrumentalist C. Nunes, and drummer Marcelo Pettinatti — whose debut album Morte (2022) was tracked partly live at Dakota Studio in Santos and completed at a home studio. The record moves through eight tracks of blunt, unornamented death metal with a raw, rehearsal-room directness that suits the band's name, which translates simply as obituary.
La Paz, BO · active
Necromance Theater is a symphonic black metal band from La Paz, Bolivia, that began in 2012 under the name Exhumation before adopting their current identity. The band has released two full-lengths, Beyond the Throne of Mist (2016) and Universal Cult of Darkness (2019), alongside several EPs, all independently. Their lyrical focus spans anti-religion, occultism, necromancy, and self-styled prophecy.
Rio de Janeiro, BR · 2017–present · active
Originally formed in 1986, Necromancer finally released their debut full-length Forbidden Art in 2014 after reconnecting in 2012, a record recorded at Hanoi Studio in Rio de Janeiro and praised for channeling the old-school thrash aggression of Sodom, Destruction, and early Sepultura. Since returning to activity, they have been prolific on Bandcamp, issuing a string of EPs in 2017 including Book of the Dead and vi that continue refining their death-tinged thrash attack.
