One of the oldest extreme metal bands in Paraná, Morthal trace their origins to 1987 and are often cited as the pioneer of the death/thrash style in the state, performing shows as far as Brasília and Asunción in the mid-1990s and releasing a split LP with Tumulto in 1992 that drew national attention in the underground press. After roughly 18 years of inactivity, the band reformed with vocalist Nilton Bobato and guitarist Zepa Costa among its ranks, picking up where their gritty, war-themed death/thrash left off.

Morthifera is a thrash metal band formed in 2010 in González Catán, Greater Buenos Aires, by drummer Cristian Romero along with guitarist Sergio Noriega. The band built their name on socially charged, working-class-rooted thrash, releasing the EP Régimen de Sangre in 2011, the full-length Basurero Humano through Icarus Music in 2016, and the independently released Apócrifo in 2019.

Their 2024 album Plagues Requiem, recorded at Maçonaria do Áudio in Nova Lima and released through Demoncratic Records, confronts themes of human manipulation and historical atrocity with the band's characteristic density and aggression.

Mortiferian is a death metal band from Medellín, Colombia, active since 2008. The band released their debut demo self-titled in 2008 and their first full-length, Casus Morte, in 2013, followed by a return to activity in 2023 with new singles and the 2025 EP Litaniae Funeris Abyssi. Their music explores themes of death, anti-religion, and occultism.

Mortiferik is a one-man funeral doom project built around the bleakest end of the death/doom spectrum, drawing on the suffocating pace and crushing despair of the genre's key forebears. The project released the "Empire of Sadness Returns" EP and appeared on the "Doomed Serenades" Brazilian doom compilation, marking it as a committed voice in the country's underground doom scene.

Mortificy is a brutal death metal band from the Amazon region with a discography spanning two decades, including the albums "Brutal Instinct of Retalliation" (2003), "Unholy Triumph" (2006), and "Burn and Suffer" (2012). Their sound is dense and relentless, rooted in the aggressive traditions of Amazonian extreme metal with anti-religious lyrical themes.
