Active since 1998, Poem's Death deal in straightforward, mid-paced death metal with a combative, politically charged lyrical worldview. Their debut album Decade of Rebellion, released in 2019 through Mutilation Productions and Blizzard Records, collects tracks like "Apocalypse of Workers" and "The Master to Slave" into a blunt, unembellished slab of old-school death.
Founded in June 1997 by multi-instrumentalist Cesar Severus, Poeticus Severus weave operatic heavy metal and dark ambient into a singular project the band itself calls "Operetus Barbaricus Metal," with Cecília Katrini contributing piano and backing vocals. Recent studio work includes Fulgor Sombrio (2022, recorded at Gruta Estúdio in Rio) and O Rugir da Ira (2024), both produced entirely by Severus.
Formed in 2012 by Wilson (Evil Puke), Luan (slaughterrazor), and Alex Henrique Rangel, Poison Beer played aggressive old-school thrash drawing heavily from the German scene while weaving in crossover, black, and death metal influences. Their 2013 EP Poisoning the Priest laid out their provocative lyrical obsessions — alcohol, evil, and anti-religious sacrilege — over six short blasts of raw, unpolished thrash.
Poison the Preacher is a thrash metal, crossover, and hardcore punk band from Bogotá, Colombia, formed in 2021. The band blends raw hardcore aggression with old-school thrash principles and released their debut full-length "Vs the World" in 2025 through Concreto Records. Their catalog also includes several singles and a split release from 2022–2023.
Poisonous play a dense, blasphemous strain of death metal that blends the brutality of old-school American death with the obscure, murky atmospheres of early Brazilian extreme metal. Active since 2008, the band released the Coronation EP in 2017 and returned with the four-track Doomed Pillars EP in 2022, cementing their reputation as one of the most uncompromising acts from Bahia's underground.
Pombajira — the trio of Blizzard, Hellson Röcha, and T. Splatter — channel the spirit of an Afro-Brazilian female deity into slow, ritualistic doom metal shaped by Black Sabbath, Venom, Celtic Frost, and Pentagram. Their 2019 self-titled debut on Blizzard/Crionic Records established their raw, candid approach, while the 2025 follow-up Sabbatical Spells, recorded at HCS Studios in Rio de Janeiro, pushed further into occult and rebellious territory.
One of Espírito Santo's earliest extreme metal exports, Porrada!!! formed in 1991 and quickly carved through death/black metal into grindcore territory, releasing three records in rapid succession: The Avalanche (1992), The Society's Open Hurts (1993), and Long Live Grindcore!!! (1994). Their lyrics tackled death, politics, and social decay, and the increasing grindcore aggression across those three releases marked them as genuine pioneers of the Brazilian extreme underground.
Porta Daemonium is a Santiago-based occult death metal band whose roots trace back to 1998 under the name Porta Salomoniis, reforming under the current name in 2011. Drawing from the approaches of Immolation, Incantation, and early Morbid Angel, they released their debut full-length Serpent of Chaos in 2016 on Iron, Blood & Death Corporation, with a vinyl edition following in 2017 on Sweden's Blood Harvest Records. The band continued activity through the 2019 split Emancifestation From Sinister Side and the 2020 split The Southern Spirits Old Chants.
Porta Infernum is a black metal band from Los Teques, Miranda, Venezuela, active since 2007. The band explores themes of lust, anti-Christianity, hate, and darkness across releases including two early demos and the 2016 EP "Inter Peccata Luxuriae Infernalis," released through Ukraine's Depressive Illusions Records.
