Abutre (Portuguese for 'Vulture') are one of São Paulo's early heavy metal bands, formed in 1982 by the Giudice brothers and bassist Tomas Catafay. The band contributed two tracks — 'Quando o Fogo Começa a Arder' and 'Rock Rock Rock' — to the landmark SP Metal II compilation on Baratos Afins in 1985, placing them among the pioneers of São Paulo's underground metal circuit before disbanding in 1986 and reuniting for anniversary events in 2015 and 2016.
