A black metal project from Ponta Grossa, Paraná, formed in 2019 as a side outlet for Draugur, the figure behind the band Paarthurnax. Signed to Arte Ancestral Records, A.N.T.I.L.I.V. has released the albums Superioridade Atemporal and Vilipêndio, channeling themes of war, hate, and misanthropy through a raw and uncompromising black metal framework.
A.R.I.D.A. is a groove metal and metalcore band from San Rafael, Mendoza, formed by vocalist and bassist Francisco Escudero, guitarists Tomas Villegas and Alejandro Martin, and drummer Mariana Gutierrez. The band released their debut album Sueño Demencial in May 2022, a five-track conceptual record produced with support from Argentina's INAMU arts funding program.
An anarchist black metal entity from São Paulo active since 2019, blending the sonic darkness of black metal with explicitly anti-fascist politics. They have contributed tracks to international compilation releases including Red & Black Flag Convocation (2022) and Not Your Political Weapon (2024), positioning themselves within the global RABM movement while describing their output as obscure music aimed at questioning a sick world.
A two-piece raw black metal band that began as a collaboration between Santa Catarina and Espírito Santo before the lineup shifted to a Santa Catarina / Minas Gerais axis, with Krakör handling vocals and Aamon on instruments. Signed to Madre Muerte, their lyrics explore paganism, nature mysticism, and spiritual hatred in the tradition of stripped-down South American black metal.
Aamonhammer is a black/thrash metal band from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, emerging from the same fertile extreme metal underground that produced Sarcófago and Sepultura. The band pursues a raw, aggressive fusion of black and thrash metal rooted in the early Brazilian extreme metal tradition. They are listed as split-up on Metal Archives.
Aasimon is a heavy metal band from Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, active since at least the mid-2000s and one of the longer-running traditional metal acts from the Rio de Janeiro metro area. Their sound draws on classic heavy metal with a straightforward approach rooted in the Brazilian underground scene. They maintain a Bandcamp presence and remain active as of their last known activity.
Aasverus is a funeral doom metal project from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, formed in 2015 and part of Brazil's slowly expanding underground doom scene. The band deals in the slowest, most oppressive end of the doom spectrum — heavily distorted guitars, funereal tempos, and bleak atmospheric density that characterizes the funeral doom subgenre. Their Bandcamp presence reflects a DIY approach common to the Brazilian extreme underground.
Aavah was a gothic/power metal band from São Paulo, Brazil, active from 2005 until their eventual split-up. The band blended melodic power metal with gothic atmosphere and Christian lyrical themes, releasing the EP A Night in the Wild Garden in 2006 and the single Endless Ocean in 2008. Their lineup featured vocalist Paula Kel alongside a full ensemble recorded through Kidman Estúdio.
Ab Aeterno is a gothic metal band from Quilmes, Buenos Aires Province, founded in 2006 as a studio project by vocalist Carina Alvarez and bassist Damian Bordese, alongside guitarist Ivan Iñiguez, keyboardist Juan Pablo Paravia, and drummer Fernando De Cristofaro. The band released the album Our Own Closure in 2014 and made their live debut in 2008 at Pepsi Music as guests of Finnish singer Tarja Turunen, also appearing on Argentina's first Dream Theater tribute album Sincity The Dreams Go On.
