Pesto coined the term "culinary grindcore" for their particular strain of brutal death metal and grindcore, built around grotesque gastronomic and cannibal lyrical themes. The trio of Diego Firmo, Diego Andrade, and Marcio Barbosa debuted with an EP that included a music video for the track "Cutting Corpse," establishing a darkly comedic identity within extreme metal.
Pezadilla is a death metal and grindcore band from Medellín, Colombia, active since 2011. Purulence was an all-female death metal and grindcore quartet from Botucatu, São Paulo, formed in 1992 by Alessandra (vocals), Simone (guitar), Cassia (vocals and drums), and Ludmilla (bass). The band released the split "Going the Putrid Reality" in 1995 alongside New York Against the Belzebu, and are documented as the first all-female grindcore band in Latin America.
Putrefact Christ is a raw black metal and grindcore band from Blumenau, Santa Catarina, formed in 2024 with Satanic and anti-Christian lyrical themes. Their debut album "Black Metal Against You All" was released on May 12, 2024 through Jems Label as a limited cassette of 30 copies, containing nine tracks including "We Are the True Black Metal" and "We Who Drinks the Blood of Your Bastardo Messiah."
Pútrido is a grindcore band from Mauá, São Paulo, formed by guitarist and vocalist Bruno Teixeira of Desalmado alongside vocalist Carlos Silvério and drummer Anderson Leonardo, both from Aftermath. Their debut EP Justiça? — seven tracks across 13 minutes — was released on February 10, 2023 after years of interrupted recordings, with all production handled in studios within Mauá.
