Morgue is a goregrind band from Monte Grande, Buenos Aires, whose earliest recordings date to 2000. Their two founding demos — La Legión del Sepulcro (2000) and Instinto Repulsivo (2002) — were later compiled and released on CD as Necro Exhumation, a sixteen-track collection distributed internationally through labels such as Unholy Prophecies and Disembodied Records.
Pernambuco, BR · 2024–present · active
A self-described "old school death metal fleshcult" from Pernambuco whose approach owes a clear debt to the goregrind end of early 1990s extremity — their Repulsion cover signals as much. They debuted with the 2024 demo "Anatomy of the Grotesque" and followed it with the "Frenzied Necrotiscism" EP.
São Carlos, BR · 2000–present · split-up
Emerging from the wreckage of Corrosive Nausea, Neuro-Visceral Exhumation spent the early 2000s releasing some of the most unhinged goregrind to come out of Brazil, including Mass Murder Festival (2003) and The Human Society Wants More Gore (2004). The band periodically resurfaced over the years, most recently issuing Thou Shalt Be Slaughtered in 2021 and Gruesome Body Count in 2022 before going quiet again.
Brasília, BR · 2012–present · active
Petiot deals in filthy, no-frills goregrind with clear debts to Regurgitate, Carcass, and Flesh Grinder, building a prolific catalogue of releases including the full-length Xipophages and the collaborative split The Art of Surgery with Lipoma (2023). A further split, Morgue Escape, was released alongside Putrefacta, cementing the band's standing in the underground goregrind circuit.
Fortaleza, BR · 2022–present · active
Putrefacta is a goregrind project from Fortaleza, Ceará, formed in 2022 by José Neto, who handles vocals, guitars, and drum programming, with Fabrício Machado on bass. Natal, BR · 2004–present · active
Putritorium is a goregrind band from Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, formed in 2004 by guitarist Adriano Sabino, who has remained with the band throughout its existence. Fortaleza, BR · active
Rancid Flesh is a goregrind band from Fortaleza, Ceará, formed in 2009. Their debut release Festering Gore... Repulsive Stench (2009) was pressed in a limited edition of 100 copies on Bidule Mandibule Records, and their 2012 follow-up Pathological Zombie Carnage — a 25-track album jointly released through Carnificina Records, Cianeto Discos, Terceiro Mundo Chaos Discos, and Rapture Records — was limited to 1,000 CDs.
Berisso, AR · 2016–? · disbanded
Rekt is a brutal death metal and goregrind act from Berisso, Argentina, whose members recorded under the handles copromauro (vocals), felipe (bass), fede (drums), and domusmono (guitars). Their self-titled debut album, released on February 27, 2021, was tracked across multiple Buenos Aires locations — drums at Lucas Hulman's studio, vocals at Dojo 477 in La Plata, and guitars and bass in Berisso — with mixing and mastering handled by Domus Mono. The band split up after the release.
Florianópolis, BR · active
Goregrind band from Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, whose name is taken from the Shamatari tribe depicted in the 1979 film Cannibal Holocaust. The band released a self-titled CDr demo in 2008, produced by Leonardo Chagas and distributed through Terceiro Mundo Chaos, Cauterized Productions, and Vampiria Records; the track Pútridos Corpos Canibais from that demo was included in filmmaker Petter Baiestorf's 2008 film Vadias do Sexo Sangrento.
