Excelsis Tenebrae is a brutal and technical death metal project from Buenos Aires, built around guitarist and vocalist Patricio Posse alongside drummer Santiago Sauza. The band released their debut EP Eternity Denied in October 2017, a three-track recording produced at La Septima Casa studio in Ramos Mejía that draws on influences including Nile, Morbid Angel, and Suffocation. The project grew out of an earlier Miami-based incarnation called Serpenthorn that Posse ran during his high school years before relocating to Argentina.
