Hanagorik is a thrash and groove metal band from Surubim, Pernambuco, Brazil, formed in 1991 and one of the most enduring metal acts from the country's northeast. The band released a series of recordings including the demos Screaming Again (1995) and the full-length Uncivil (1997), followed by For Kids With Some Problems (2002), the latter issued during a second European tour that took them through Germany, Austria, and Belgium. They also released the EP Alceu ao Nosso Jeito (2012), a notable tribute to Pernambuco folk icon Alceu Valença reimagined in a metal context.
HellgardeN was a groove metal band from Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil, featuring vocalist Diego Pascuci, guitarist Caick Gabriel, bassist Guilherme Biondo, and drummer Matheus Barreiros. The band signed to American label Brutal Records and released their debut album Making Noise, Living Fast in 2020, recorded direct to tape at ForestLab Studios in Petrópolis and mastered by Alan Douches, who is known for his work with Motörhead and Sepultura. Their sound drew comparisons to Pantera and Crowbar, blending groove metal heaviness with sludge-influenced tones.
Helltribe is a thrash/groove metal band from João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil, formed in 2014 and notable for being one of the first heavy metal acts to record an album from the state of Paraíba. Their debut EP "Brutal Reality" (2016) weaves Brazilian and African percussion rhythms into their aggressive sound, addressing themes of cannibalism, war, and social problems.
Humanal is a progressive groove metal band from Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, formed in 2016, featuring vocalist Tati Klingel alongside guitarists André Lazzaretti and Rafael Barcellos, bassist Mauricio Escher, and drummer André Preto. Their debut full-length album Delirium, released in August 2025, spans ten tracks addressing themes of mental health, addiction, oppression, and technology, with Klingel also serving as the album's producer.
