Hylidae is a death and thrash metal band from Rio Branco, Acre — one of Brazil's most geographically remote metal acts — whose band name is drawn from an indigenous Amazonian ritual associated with hunting and survival. The band released their debut full-length Promiscuous World (2012), recording it in Curitiba due to the lack of suitable studios in Acre, and followed it with the second album Unbreakable Curse (2021), mixed and mastered in Fortaleza. Over their career they have shared stages with Sepultura, Nervochaos, and Demonical.
Ilizarov is a death/thrash metal band from Formosa, Goiás, Brazil, founded in mid-2014 by Danilo Rocha (guitar/vocals), Nel Dias (bass), and Veto (drums). Drawing on old-school death metal, punk, and rock and roll, the band has remained active in the Brazilian underground and released the album "Heal and Kill" in March 2025.
Incurse is a death/groove metal band from Varginha, Minas Gerais, Brazil, formed in 2017. The band blends death, groove, progressive, and heavy metal influences, releasing the single "Tormented Scars" in May 2019 as a preview of their debut album Constant Violence.
Infected Cells is a death/thrash metal band from Simões Filho, Bahia, Brazil. The band released their debut EP "Voices from the Hell" in 2018, recorded between 2015 and 2017 at WR Bahia Studios in Salvador, Bahia; the seven-track EP was later released on cassette in 2022. They followed it with the EP "This Is the End" (2020) and a live album documenting their appearance at Dopesmoke Festival in 2021.
Infected Mind was a death/thrash metal band from Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil, signed to the InfernalFox label. The band recorded their album "Rascals of Destruction" at Ponto Som Studio in Campina Grande, which includes a live bonus track — a cover of Black Sabbath's "Into the Void." Their lyrical themes centered on social issues and injustice.
Infortuno is a death/doom and hardcore band from Piracicaba, São Paulo, formed in 2022, featuring vocalist Bruno Lucas, guitarist Rodrigo Santos, bassist Bruno Reina, and drummer Bruno Lanza. The band released their debut EP, Decadent Vindication, in January 2023, a five-track record blending sludgy riffs and doomy breakdowns with NYHC-influenced drum grooves. They followed it in 2024 with Covenant of Dissent, a split release with Counterraid.
Insanity was a death/thrash metal band from Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, formed in 1989 under the name HON (Hexistence of Noise) by bassist/vocalist George Frizzo and guitarist Alberto Lopes before adopting the Insanity name later that year. The band released the demo "In Search of Reason" in 1990, recorded at Proaudio Studios in Fortaleza, and later issued the full-length "Phobia" in 1993 through Muvuca Records before splitting up in 2003.
Insanity Seas is a doom/death/sludge metal project from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, conceived by Henrique and Love Streit and active since 2021. Drawing lyrical inspiration from the cosmic horror fiction of H.P. Lovecraft, the band channels oppressive, slow-grinding riffs into an atmosphere of dread rooted in Lovecraftian mythology.
Insulter was a Brazilian death/thrash metal band from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, formed in 2012, working in the same extreme underground tradition as early local acts like Sarcófago and Sextrash. Their demo recordings were compiled and released in 2015 by Nuclear War Now! Productions on the album "Blood Spits, Violences and Insults," which also appeared on Iron Bonehead Productions in a gatefold LP edition.
