Macacos da Manchúria is a death/doom metal project from São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil, formed in 2021 by brothers Alexandre Paloschi (vocals, guitars, drum programming) and Henrique Paloschi (bass, guitars). The band's name is a tribute to victims of Unit 731, and their debut full-length "Bessa" (2022) — recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by Alexandre Paloschi — was composed and produced in a home studio between August and December 2021.
Magicus Pacha Moon is a Death/Doom Metal band from San Gabriel, Carchi, Ecuador, originally formed in 2001 and revived in 2019. Their 2021 debut album "Vientos de Immortalidad" draws on old-school death/doom influences, exploring themes of nature, solitude, and introspection through ten tracks recorded under the cold shadow of the Andean mountains. The band is currently active and releases through Wolfgang Records.
A long-running death-black metal force from the São Paulo underground, Malediction 666 draws heavily from the Greek black metal tradition — the 2019 album "We, Demons" even features guest appearances from Necroabyssious of Varathron and Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ. The project is largely driven by a single individual, resulting in a focused and consistent sound shaped by decades of devotion to the dark arts.
Manso Jeremías is a death/thrash metal band from Buenos Aires whose sound draws on Swedish death metal forebears such as At the Gates, Dismember, and Entombed. The band — comprising Claudio Filadoro, Martin Furia, Mariano Miranda, and Gabriel Raimondo — has released two records: DOBLEHACHA (2016) and the five-track MARABUNTA.
Martyrdom have spent decades honing a suffocating brand of death/doom rooted in occult and ancient civilizations imagery, with slow, mournful riffs giving way to cavernous death metal blasts. After a 1997 demo and years of obscurity, they released the EP "Culto Primitivo à Morte" in 2017 and their debut full-length "Ritual Místico de Adoração à Sabedoria Ancestral" in 2018, recorded at Netuno Estúdio and mixed in Montreal.
Mausoleum were a death/black metal outfit from São Paulo whose lyrical themes circled around paganism and occultism, a common thread running through releases spanning compilations such as "Southern Warriors Cult #1" (1999) and "War... Satanic Victory!!!" (2003). Their output also included "10 Anos de Bestial Massacre" in 2004 and "O Retorno à Batalha" in 2006, cementing a two-decade presence in the Brazilian underground before the band eventually dissolved.
Mediadhor hit the ground running with two releases in quick succession: the demo "Caminho do Arrependimento" in late 2016 and the full-length "Campos Mortais" in early 2017. Their approach fuses the grinding aggression of death metal with thrash's rhythmic momentum, giving the material a relentless, forward-charging quality.
Rooted in the South American underground, Mephistopheles play a morbid amalgam of doom, death, and black metal drawing from the same unholy lineage as Mystifier, Sarcófago, and Blasphemy. Their two early demo tapes — 'The Prophecy' and 'Black God' — were later compiled and released on CD by Voz da Morte Prod in 2018 as 'The Prophecy of Black God,' preserving eleven tracks of raw, English-language ritual extremity.
Mephitic Tomb is a raw death/black metal project steeped in the pestilential South American underground tradition, channeling blasphemous hostility through a sound informed by anti-religious and Cthulhu Mythos themes. Formed in 2024, the project draws on the volatile heritage of the region's extreme metal underground, producing tracks such as 'Cursed by Coffin Joe' and 'Leather, Chains, Hooks, Sex' with uncompromising ferocity.
