A solo death/black metal project launched in 2023 by veteran musician Fábio Nosferatus Lima, who has been active in the Brazilian underground since 1994. Drawing on horror-film obsessions, his releases — including Chainsaw Massacre, Deus-Verme, The Exorcist, and Conjured — explore a grimy intersection of death metal brutality and black metal atmosphere rooted in exploitation-cinema imagery.
Nostos took their name from the ancient Greek concept of the epic hero's return home, and channeled that inward journey through bleak, atmospheric black metal. The project released the EP Misfortune and the single Altar before going silent, leaving behind a small but focused body of work built around introspection and desolation.
Formed by Thomas and Edu in the mid-2000s, Nuclëar Fröst channel Swedish d-beat hardcore, Japanese crust, and 1980s thrash into a politically charged war-metal hybrid. Their 2009 album Nuclear Winter Gloom and the 2014 self-titled EP show a band equally indebted to Discharge and early Bathory, with antifascist and nuclear-apocalypse lyrics running throughout. They have also appeared on several international splits alongside acts from the global crust underground.
Nudimmud draw on Mesopotamian mythology and demonology for both their name and their thematic framework, weaving those ancient references into coldly atmospheric black metal. Their 2012 split with Natimorto on Hammer of Damnation, titled Anointed in Angel Blood, introduced tracks like Melammu Xul and Daughters of Lot — occult-inflected compositions that show a band more interested in ritualistic weight than in speed.
Nulla Ratio is a solo black metal project from Curicó, Maule, conceived, recorded, and mixed entirely by the single member Iatros. The project debuted with Fire Wombs in June 2021, followed by Phases in November 2022, the latter released on limited cassette through Cognitio Mors Vincit, with themes centered on death.
Nöldr is the solo black metal and dungeon synth project of Lord Deathlaff, whose 2021 debut Misanthropic Forest established the project's tone: raw tremolo-driven riffs shadowed by a melodic melancholy, closing into dark ambient territory. Subsequent releases including the Dynasty ov the Darkened Evocations EP and Profane Eternity deepen a cosmology drawn from Tolkien, Norse myth, and the bleak aesthetics of second-wave black metal.
A solo endeavor by the artist known as Kaelreth, Oblique Silhouette operates in the overlap between raw black metal, depressive black metal, and ambient, producing everything in a bedroom setting. The project's debut, the three-track EP Through the Hate Forests (December 2022), established a tone of deep melancholy and isolation, followed by a second EP, Grimlands Under the Moon Spectre, that pushed further into atmospheric territory.
Hailing from Ponta Grossa, Obscurantis fuses industrial textures with raw black metal hostility, wrapping esoteric and cosmic themes in a harsh, mechanised sound. Their 2020 debut "Pesta Mundi" runs six tracks — including the sprawling "Ktullanux" and the bleak "Ex Dei" — drawing on occult and astronomical imagery to build a genuinely unsettling atmosphere.
Formed in November 2019, Obscure Relic play a ferocious, old-school-rooted black metal indebted to early Scandinavian brutality — all razor riffs, blast-beat drumming, and vocalist Caronte's infernal high-pitched shrieks stacked against guttural roars. Their 2020 EP "First Black Communion" announced a band comfortable in the genre's most violent register, followed in 2021 by the fuller "Black Sorcery Devotion", twelve tracks of occult-drenched, relentless attack.
