Vinterskögen is a black metal project from Assú, Rio Grande do Norte, that takes its name and aesthetic from Scandinavian winter imagery despite its Brazilian origins. The band's debut release, "Where Sunlight Doesn't Reach," appeared in April 2015 and was recorded partly at the Mamba Negra Studio in Mossoró and partly at Usina in Assú.

The band issued its demo Until the Dark Solitude Take Our Soul in January 2015 and quickly followed with the EP Queen of the Dark Depths in June 2015, establishing a catalog built around themes of evil, the occult, and misanthropy.
