Werken are a heavy metal band from Comodoro Rivadavia in the Patagonia region of Argentina, originally formed in 2002 under the name Odisea before adopting their current name — Mapuche for "messenger" — after five years. The band released three studio albums: "Plegaria al Sur" (2010), "Jinete en la Tormenta" (2014, through Icarus Music), and "Tierra Salvaje" (November 2020, through MTM Prod. Records). Their sound draws on classic heavy metal and hard rock influences including Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, and Argentine folk music.
