On Crash

On Crash formed in Rio Claro, in the interior of São Paulo state, around the end of 2016, beginning as instrumental rehearsals before settling into a lineup that pairs filthy sludge metal with the urgency of crust punk and hardcore, with death-metal weight pressing at the edges. The band's worldview is explicitly political and bleak: they describe seeing the world in black and white, channeling revolt against injustice and exploitation while confronting what they call the irrational emptiness of human existence, a philosophy made plain in song and release titles like Insulto aos Mortos and Do Absurdo. That 2022 EP, Do Absurdo, captured their abrasive fusion of hardcore and metal, and the 2023 video for Irracional further documented a band steeped in crust and sludge aggression.
