Endless Brutality

Endless Brutality is a self-styled 'Brazilian unholy thrash metal' power trio formed in 2012 in Assú, a small city in the western interior of Rio Grande do Norte, in Brazil's northeastern Nordeste region. Catalogued on the Encyclopaedia Metallum under the lineup pseudonyms Disintegrator, Crusher, and Possessed, the band leans hard into the blackened-thrash idiom that traces directly back to the first wave of Brazilian extreme metal, drawing from the same well of bullet-belt aggression, Bathory-tinged riffing and reverb-soaked vocals that fueled Vulcano, Holocausto and the early Sarcófago cohort throughout the 1980s. The trio's lyrical concerns are squarely within the scene's traditional territory: nuclear war, death, militant anti-religion and political agitation. After an early demo period, Endless Brutality issued the full-length 'Tormented Minds' in May 2014 and followed it the next year with the six-track 'Thermonuclear Devastation,' released in July 2015 and headlined by cuts such as 'Biological War' and 'Nuclear Battlefields' alongside a cover of Darkthrone, a nod to the band's debt to second-wave Norwegian black metal as much as its first-wave South American lineage. Operating largely outside the heavier metal infrastructure of Brazil's southeast, the band represents one of the more visible thrash entries from Rio Grande do Norte, a state whose contribution to the country's broader extreme metal map has remained comparatively small but persistent.
