Duldra

Duldra is a Brazilian death metal project formed in 2023, initially based in the agribusiness frontier town of Lucas do Rio Verde in central Mato Grosso before relocating to Belém, the Amazonian port capital of Pará. The band emerged from the ashes of an earlier outfit, Bvrial ov Cristvs, which operated from 2020 to 2023 in the same blackened, anti-Christian vein common to the Brazilian underground. With the renaming came a reorientation toward straightforward death metal, leaning on themes of misanthropy, war, and death rather than the overt blasphemy of its predecessor, and the move from the cattle-and-soy interior to Belém placed the project squarely within one of Brazil's most overlooked extreme metal regions. Pará's metal scene has long sat at a geographical remove from the Belo Horizonte, Sao Paulo, and Rio axes that dominated Brazilian death metal history, but Belém has cultivated its own deep-cut underground for decades, going back to the city's claim on Stress, often cited as Brazil's first metal LP in 1982, and continuing through a steady, self-released circuit of death and war metal projects. Duldra's documented output is small and circulated through the usual cassette, CDR, and Bandcamp channels that define this layer of the scene, most notably the split release Misanthropic Alliance with Ivann, another Belém-based death/thrash project tied to a lineage including Sumatra, Defecation of Putrid Blood, Morbidead, and Eternal Necrosys. That shared family tree, where multiple bands cycle through the same handful of musicians under successive names, is characteristic of the northern Brazilian underground and gives Duldra context less as a standalone act and more as one node in a long-running collective of Pará extreme metal lifers. The band remains unsigned and active, operating independently outside the mainstream Brazilian metal infrastructure.
