Avalon
Avalon is a thrash/power metal band from Teresina, Piauí, Brazil, originally formed in 1987 before reuniting with a new formation around 2009. Drawing influence from the classic thrash canon — Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax — alongside baroque composers like Vivaldi, they released two full-lengths in the early 1990s: Old Psychotic Eyes (1993) and Incognito (1994) on Cogumelo Records, and their 1989 split with Megahertz remains a landmark of Brazilian thrash. A 2020 reunion produced the Avalon Anthology compilation and new tracks on The Thrash Metal Takeover Vol. 1.
