Lumine Criptica was a gothic metal band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, formed in 2008 with the dual-vocal lineup of Sabrina Filipcic (vocals/keyboards) and Cristian Trefny (bass/growls), alongside guitarists Martín Príncipe and Andrés Bustamante and drummer Tomás Limeres. Their debut album Fading into Darkness (March 2010), recorded at Arkham Studios in Buenos Aires, drew comparisons to Within Temptation, Epica, and Lacuna Coil for its combination of aggressive riffs and melodic female vocals. The band split up after Filipcic departed in 2011, though a later lineup continued until around 2012.
Misanthropy blends the heaviness of death metal with the atmospheric melancholy of gothic metal, crafting a sound rooted in themes of death and inner torment. Hailing from the Amazonian city of Santarém, the band later continued under the name Inner Sigh, carrying forward their emotionally-charged approach to extreme metal.
Monasterium was a death/doom/gothic metal band from Teresina active in the late 1990s, releasing the full-length "Innocent Rise" on Demise Records in 1999 and a demo titled "Inviolable" in 1998. Their sound blended the heavy melodic sensibility of gothic doom with death metal weight, placing them among the more ambitious extreme acts to emerge from the Piauí underground.

Oniria is a gothic metal project from Buenos Aires active since 2005, currently operating as a solo endeavor by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Guillermo Manolio. The band began with a fuller lineup that included guitarists, bass, and keyboards before consolidating around Manolio as the sole creative force, releasing a self-titled demo in 2005.
Formed in the mid-1990s under the name Angels of Disease before settling into Pettalom, this long-running gothic and heavy metal act from the interior of São Paulo state issued their debut full-length The Wine of the Night in 2000 and returned decades later with Sanctify My Fog in 2018. Their sound blends moody gothic atmospherics with traditional heavy metal structures, drawing on a lineage that stretches back to early Paradise Lost and Type O Negative.
Quintessente is a melodic death and gothic metal band from Rio de Janeiro founded in 1994 under the name Quintessence, with a current lineup of vocalist André Carvalho, guitarist Cristiano Dias, keyboardist and vocalist Cristina Müller, bassist Luiz Fernando de Paula, and drummer Leo Birigui. After releasing two demos in 1996 and 2000 and a roughly 15-year hiatus, the band returned in 2015 and issued their debut full-length Songs from Celestial Spheres in 2017, which was later re-released digitally by Roadie Metal in 2019.
Ravenland is a gothic metal band from São Paulo formed in 1997 by Dewindson Wolfheart, who has led the group across multiple active periods separated by a hiatus from 2003 to 2006. Their debut full-length ...And a Crow Brings Me Back was recorded at Fusão VM&T Studios in Cotia over roughly a year and a half and released in July 2009 on Free Mind Records, followed by a second album, When the Night Falls Within Us, in 2015.
Symphonic gothic metal band from Agudos, São Paulo, featuring soprano Thais Verônica alongside vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Pedro Segundo, guitarists Pablo Albergoni and Rafael Silva. The band debuted with the EP Grace And Dread... In Harmony in November 2016, recorded at Midian Studio in Agudos, and released the album Reign in Carnage in 2025.
