Formed in 2016 by veterans drawn from bands including Nuclëar Fröst and Whipstriker, Necrogosto are devoted to the savage black/thrash sound of late-1980s Brazil — Sarcófago, Sextrash, and Holocausto are the obvious touchstones. Their self-titled 2017 demo, recorded on analogue equipment at Caffeine Sound Studio, was followed by the "Ancestral Bestiality" EP (2020) and the "Sudakaos" EP (2023) via Nuclear War Now! Productions and Black Hearts Records, with the latter including a cover of the Insulter/Sextrash classic "Black Church."
Necromancy from Vila Velha play a savage blend of black and death metal that leans heavily on speed and menace, releasing a steady stream of material since their 2019 debut Feathers Fall to Flames. Savage Genocide (2020) and the self-titled full-length (2022) further defined their approach — raw, uncompromising underground metal with no concessions to accessibility.
One of the most ferocious products of the late-1980s Brazilian underground, this Minas Gerais quartet — led by vocalist/guitarist Deathvomit alongside Rotten on bass and Rotten Corpse on drums — recorded the 1988 demo "Brutal Mutilation," a cassette-only release celebrated for its catastrophic rawness. The demo was reissued decades later as an LP through Nuclear War Now! Productions, cementing its cult status.
Nefelio announced themselves with A Peregrination Wombwards, a 44-minute debut released in May 2022 through Those Opposed Records, earning praise for its elaborate and dense approach to atmospheric black metal. The album's seven tracks weave melodic black metal grandeur with doom-paced heaviness, placing it among the more ambitious debuts to emerge from the current Brazilian underground.
Nekkrofuneral deals in old-school black/death savagery rooted in the Brazilian underground tradition, with Z. Misanthrope on bass and vocals, M. Marra on guitars, and C. Couto on drums. Their 2021 split "A Epítome da Decadência Humana" with Numbomb showcases the band's raw, crust-tinged attack recorded and mixed at Heavy Track Estúdio.
Nekrokult channels the unholy trinity of early Bathory, Celtic Frost, and Sarcófago into punishing black/thrash metal with a heavy crust and d-beat undercurrent. Their 2017 debut "Desecration of Blood," released on cassette by Narcoleptica Productions, tears through eleven tracks of malicious, Satan-drenched speed and filth.
Nekrommander is a one-person black/death metal project helmed by Ghul, whose 2023 EP "Vomiting in Heaven" was years in the making — drums tracked in 2019, the rest completed through 2023. The five-track release blends crunchy old-school death metal with thrash sharpness and hardcore-inflected groove, with session drums contributed by Douglas Batista.
Nocthun describes their music as "apocalyptic antifascist metal," channeling blackened death metal into explicitly political and confrontational themes. Their debut full-length "Rest in Flames" establishes the project with tracks like "In the Uncanny Valley of Death" and "Volcanic Hellfire," pairing blast-driven aggression with ideological conviction.
Noctívago is a solitary black metal project that drifts between crushing doom weight and spectral ambient drift, releasing a sequence of self-titled volumes — I through V — through the Terror Noturno label, each pressed in severely limited cassette runs. The music pulls influence from post-punk as much as orthodox black metal, weaving slow, suffocating riffs with passages that dissolve into murk and static.
