Vakan is a heavy metal band from Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, founded in 2010 by Carlos Schmitt, Guma Streb, and Matheus Oliveira. Their 2018 debut album "Vagabond" — featuring vocalist Matheus Oliveira, guitarist Alexandre Marinho, bassist Natanael Couto, and drummer Lucas Oliveira — weaves traditional gaúcho folk elements into a sound shaped by Iron Maiden, Helloween, and Angra.
