Prepared to Kill

Prepared to Kill are an old-school speed and thrash metal band from the Boituva and Sorocaba area of São Paulo state, the industrial interior region that has long fed Brazil's thrash machine. Formed in 1998, the band ran an initial campaign until 2011 before splitting, then reactivated in 2014 and has remained active since. Their thematic territory is classic aggression with a critical edge: hell, murder, violence, death, and pointed social commentary, the latter touching on mental overload, human cruelty, apocalyptic collapse, and religious manipulation. During their first era they surfaced on regional underground compilations, appearing on the 'Thundergod Compilation Volume II' in 2004 and the 'Metal Sangrento Compilation' in 2005, the kind of tape-and-CD samplers that knit together São Paulo's grassroots metal community in the pre-streaming years. After more than two decades of activity, the band finally delivered its debut full-length, 'Legions of Violence', in 2025, a thirteen-track record built unapologetically on the 1980s spirit of thrash, speed, and heavy metal as a direct homage to those founding styles. Described as an honest, fast, and wild affair stacked with headbang-ready riffs and pitched as a record made by fans for fans, it distills the band's long-gestating identity into a single statement. Prepared to Kill stand in the towering shadow of São Paulo thrash royalty, the state that birthed Sepultura's contemporaries and a wave of brutal, scrappy bands that gave Brazilian thrash its ferocious reputation worldwide. By keeping the riff-first, no-frills 80s template alive deep into the 2020s, they serve as a living link between the genre's golden-age blueprint and the enduring underground that still champions it across the São Paulo interior.
