De Ros is a progressive metal and shred project centered on guitarist Marcos De Ros from Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Originally formed as a power trio in 1991 with drummer Sandro Stecanela and bassist Fábio Alves, the group recorded the instrumental progressive metal albums "Ad Dei Gloriam" (1994) and "Universe" (1997), drawing on influences ranging from jazz-fusion to Indian classical music. Marcos De Ros is recognized by Rolling Stone Brasil as one of 70 Brazilian guitar masters and was the first Brazilian guitarist to release an instructional CD-ROM internationally.
