Colapsus

Forged in the small coastal town of Anchieta, Santa Catarina, Colapsus emerged in 2023 as part of a stubborn current of Brazilian extreme metal that refuses to abandon the country's foundational template — the Sarcofago-Mutilator-Vulcano axis where black, thrash, and speed metal blur into a single corroded weapon. Their debut album Order of Execution arrived in March 2024 as four tracks of unsigned, self-released defiance, billing themselves with the war-cry that they are the executioners of weak scum, soldiers of all evil. It is a deliberately old-school proposition: war, violence, hatred, and Satanic invocation rendered without pretense or polish. Anchieta is not a city associated with Brazil's metal lineage — Santa Catarina's extreme scene tends to cluster around Florianopolis and Jaragua do Sul, and the great Brazilian black/thrash hubs lie far north in Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo — which makes Colapsus's existence an act of small-town conviction rather than scene affiliation. The band operates in the lineage of bands like Whipstriker, Power From Hell, and Farscape, the Brazilian first-wave revivalists who treat blackened speed metal as devotional practice rather than nostalgia. Order of Execution is short by design, the album functioning less as a statement than as a calling card, a declaration that the underground torch still burns in unlikely places. With no label backing and a circulation limited largely to Bandcamp, Colapsus belongs to the vast tier of Brazilian extreme bands who exist primarily for the cassette traders, the demo collectors, and the small circle of listeners who still believe that conviction matters more than reach. Whether they outlast the genre's brutal attrition rate remains open, but their opening volley plants a recognizable flag: another voice in the long, unyielding chorus of Brazilian black-thrash.
